Ryan Kammerer

Senior Attorney

Ryan is a Senior Attorney in the Pittsburgh office with over two decades of litigation experience.  He concentrates his practice on representing commercial taxpayers on property tax and eminent domain disputes.  Previously, for nearly a decade, Ryan represented the Governor’s Office of Chief Counsel, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in complex eminent domain litigation.  This experience includes boards of view, de facto evidentiary hearings, and jury trials in counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Ryan successfully argued before the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania resulting in a published opinion at Cronimet v. Commonwealth of Pa., DOT, 137 A.3d 666, 2016 Pa.Comm. Lexis 211 (Pa. Commw. Ct. 2016).  Prior to his experience with the Governor’s Office of Chief Counsel, Ryan spent a decade representing criminal defendants and parents in custody disputes.  His daily experience during this period included preliminary hearings, probation and parole hearings, civil contempt hearings, juvenile hearings, mental health hearings, both jury and non-jury trials involving everything from assaults to criminal homicide, as well as appeals before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.  During this time, he was recognized by the Mental Health Association of Westmoreland County for his dignified and respectful representation of mental health patients and was a member of both the Pennsylvania and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
